Hello, my friends. It's time to review new Big Fish Games Studios game - Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse. Game is developed by EleFun Games and can be attributed to the Hidden Object genre (of course, it includes Puzzle and Adventure elements, just as any other modern Hidden Object game). Traditionally, Big Fish Games released Collector's Edition only, Standard edition is unavailable for a month or so. As usual, we will start our review with the gameplay video:
Hatred, wrath, revenge. Powerful dark feelings can change the life of any human being forever. That is what happened first with an old powerful witch, who was tricked and abused by the Charleston family. When anger consume her mind and soul completely, witch strikes back and cursed every member of this family with her most powerful deadly curse. That's how Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse story begins. And now Charleston family members are dying one by one, and hatred consuming their souls too. How can this unholy circle be broken?
Maybe, just maybe, it will stop on the young orphan, beautiful girl, Lynn? With your help she may overwhelm the curse and become free to leave in peace. But it's not the easiest thing in the world - to break family curse of such power. Protect Lynn from the consequences of this deadly threat! And remember: you are the only Lynn's relative that is still alive, and it means two things. First - you must take care of her. Second - as her relative, you are part of Charleston family too, and after her death you will be next in the death list.
To save Lynn you must learn a lot about The Charleston family, for example, build genealogical tree of this once numerous family, including Margaret, the head of this family, her children John and Mary, John's son son Tom (all of them already dead) and Mary's young daughter Lynn. Everyone in the family had his own story, some of them was honorable, others - funny. But every Charleston's biography ends with horrible death. It looks like the curse seeking for the weakness in the soul of the cursed and amplifying it until this weakness leads it's master to the complete destruction and death.
To find out the cause of the curse that struck The Charleston family, you must explore their manor, once full of happy voices and laughing and travel across the surroundings on your car, seeking slightest traces to the witch whereabouts. And don't think that old experienced magician can be unaware of your approaching - she will know everything and do everything possible to stop you. So drive carefully, or witch will have your soul even before Lynn's.
Today once beautiful manor and garden are wasted, full of dust and rust. Only spiders and mice are living here, and some insects and Lynn. Charleston's tried everything to find salvation: in the beginning they just laughing about the curse, but after the second death they provide their own investigation, trying to find the witch, or other powerful sorcerer or even warlock, able to remove the curse. Unsuccessful. They went to a church, asking for the holy protection and exorcism ritual. No use. Charleston's even bought tons of protective amulets and magic books from various schools and cultures, trying to build the protection themselves, they was buying everything, even dream-catchers. Waste of time.
So will you be able to stop the family curse, that threated the terrified orphan? To do so you must learn the horrible truth - witch is dead for a long time and there is no one able to remove thee curse. Discover the Witches' legacy and figure out, how Lynn can be saved. And don't forget to watch your back - death is nothing for the witch of such power, so the mansion itself is cursed and haunted! End the curse!
If you requires more informations about Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse game, for example, Cheats, Walkthrough, Hints, Tips, Tricks, Codes, Passwords, FAQ or any other help - go here, on the game's forum. Don't really sure, why you may need it - Collector's edition includes Strategy Guide, uniting elements of all of above, but who knows...
Collector's edition complectation is standard: wallpapers, concept art strategy guide, bonus gameplay, screensavers and soundtrack (8 nice melodies). That's enough to make me bought the Collector's edition and don't wait until Standard edition will be released. What about you?
Summing up, I liked this game, really. It didn't contain nothing extraordinary, graphics and in-game videos may be better. And I prefer, when you can see really many interactive videos in the game process - Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse doesn't contain enough for me (of course, there is more than a few videos in game, but I want more). But cartoon-style in-game videos, shown on the first screen, are splendid and I like them much. Hidden object gameplay neither boring, nor too complicated, there is enough hints to use. Some puzzles are of fun too. So if you have some free time and want to spend it with Hidden object game - try Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse. Good luck!
Rating: 4.5/5.
