Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light Collector's Edition Overview & Download

Hi there. Today Big Fish Games released new Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game, starting new interesting game series - Sea Legends. Game is called Phantasmal Light and soon I will told you about it's story. Traditionally Big Fish released Collector's Edition only, so if you can wait you will pay double price. Standard edition will be released soon, in a month or so. But first let us watch video, showing gameplay of the Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light.

Maybe, Big Fish should change its opening/ending for videos, I just can't see those green fish with gurgle sounds anymore. And it takes about ten seconds of every video (and of our lifes) without any sense. Now about video itself: music is tense enough, videosequence is dark and sometimes spooky. Graphics quality is good enough, animation is very realistic. I really loved the view of water in Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light. Often even in expencive big games there is no realistic water, but Phantasmal Light developers are jumped high and make it appear very good.
As you may see from the screens, sky in Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light is also very good. Although you won't see the sun in this game, all variations of the clouded sky, storm sky, clouded sunset and night sky are really beautiful and realistic. Many screenshots of this game may be turned into the great wallpapers.

What are we expecting, when going to play a game about the ocean adventures? Some great Caribbean, Atlantic or Pacific landscapes, just-for-surfing waves, incredible coral reefs, tropical islands, filled with lush greenery, wet stuffy jungles, where every second you will hear mysterious sounds from parrots snakes and other exotic animals you never seen before. None of this can be found in Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light.

The island you are going to spend next few hours is almost deserted. No grass or trees are growing here, nothing pleasing the eye. You cant found wellsprings or rivers with shining transparent water, no waterfalls for you, no. Sea around the island neither calm nor beautiful, it looks dangerous. There is always great waves, trying to smash you on the rocks, looks like Phantasmal Light nature itself want you dead.

But let's start from the beginning of Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light. It was almost honeymoon for you and your almost husband Mike, journey, that you decided to spent on a beautiful new yacht. Reaching new tropical lands, exploring the seas, what can be better for a young couple? Romantic evening on board, with a glass of vine, looking at beautiful sunset. Night swimming in the open sea, naked and excited... Everything was started as best-journey-ever.

As known, all terrible things was started with good intention. Your desire for a sea trip ends with a terrible culmination. When your yacht was crossing distant desolate waters, suddenly from the middle of nowhere terrible storm strikes you. Mike is a great sailor, yacht was modern and safe, but storm hit you with extraordinary rage and power, so after a few hours of desperate struggle Mike made a mistake and yacht sunk.

Of course, both of you wear the life-jackets. Just before the yacht crush Mike noticed earth abroad, so he shouted you to swim to it. You made it, but lost traces of Mike. You are perfectly sure that there is nothing wrong with him - when your yacht start to sink, storm was almost over, Mike wearing the life-jacket just as you do and he is way better swimmer than you. If you made it, he made it too. So in the beginning everything looks simple: find Mike, make him say: "Jane, this trip was a stupid idea"  and wait until help will arrive. But everything aren't simple on this island.

Looks like your ship isn't first or second, that sank near this island. You can see carcasses of a long-sank or not-so-long-sank ships everywhere, there is an old house on the beach, and a lighthouse on the cape, but you can't found any human beings, including Mike. And there is no signs that saviors came to this island at least once. Island making strange influence on your soul: you are trembling and feeling very scared, like you've been under surveillance every minute from the arriving, but you can't see any watchers. And all your attempts to find your companion are failing: it's look like he's disappeared.

So you must explore this strange island, trying to reunite with Mike, searching abandoned ships (some of them are modern, others lays here from the middle ages). There is something more: some strange symbols are marked everywhere, including ships. Maybe they created by some madman, who lost his mind living on this hopeless island, or maybe there is some sense in them. You will find out. And soon you will see someone alive, and it's definitely not Mike. Some mysterious man is living on this island, and his actions are not friendly. Maybe he captured Mike and now trying to stop you? Who knows... Only playing Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light you can find an answer to this question.

As you may notice from the beginning of my review, it's a Collector's edition of the Phantasmal Light, so it includes some extra chapter with even more adventures on this dark island. Great!

Let's summarize the results of my review. Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light Collector's Edition is perfect exemplar of casual games - easy to start, interesting to play, impossible to discontinue until the end. All components are good enough, so I recommend it to everyone who like adventures, connected with the sea and ocean. Good luck!
