Hello, my dear friends, once again the time has come to review new Hidden Object game from Big Fish - Shiver 2: Poltergeist. As usual, Shiver 2 isn't pure HOG - it's also includes Puzzle and Adventure game elements, and that's good. And as usual Big Fish Games released on March 2012 only Collector's Edition of the Shiver 2: Poltergeist game. Big Fish simultaneously released game for PC (download link can be found upper) and for Mac. Standard Edition will be available in the end of April. Or never :) But speaking seriously lets firstly watch video with gameplay elements, and only then we can do some conclusions about game.

Nicely drawn landscapes and locations, great interactive game videos, looking like a real thriller to me. Also Shiver 2: Poltergeist includes pretty interesting story. Can't say it's revolutionary but it isn't boring too. At least I payed attention to the storyline until the very end of game.

Long time ago a young girl was in love with the master of the Kangale Estate. He loved her too, and their destiny was appeared to be great and happy. But that was only a dream, reality changed everything to worse. Much, much worse.

From the ancient times there is some supernatural force in the Kangale Estate and it claimed to have influence on the actions that are happening there. Those force didn't like the girl and didn't want her to be a mistress of the Estate. That's why she died.

When the girl visited the lighthouse, the fire suddenly started. She was cut off from the exit by the fire, and firestorm was spreading dramatically fast. The only way for her  was to go up to the lighthouse's top. But there was no salvation, fire followed her there, so the only way for her was to jump. Her beloved one seen the fire, he took the boat and sailed to the lighthouse, but he was too late. Girl jumped, girl died.

But all of this is history. Your avatar's name is Ricardo Chellini and until the age of thirty his life was really dull. But then he received a letter that he inherited a manor in England. The Kangale Estate. And now the time has come for scary adventures!

Estate placed on the island, where even in the middle of summer you won't see the light of sun - only the myst and the rain. You took the boat and sailed to the island, to your new home. No one met you on the pier, but it's even better: you can familiarize yourself with your manor by the way you want.

Soon Ricardo will find out, why the game is called Shiver: Poltergeist. Strange things will occur with him all the time. It's enough to turn around - and objects behind your back will change their positions. Fire in the Fireplace will appear by itself, doors will open and close whenever they want. Scary place to live.

Some rooms and even buildings around the manor are ruined or half ruined: looks like they was abandoned many years ago. Meet the ghosts from the past times (they can be seen in the mirrors and dark rooms of the manor) and find out, what gruesome actions happened in the Kangale Estate!

Now about my impressions and feelings from the Shiver 2: Poltergeist Collector's Edition. First of all, it's continues the story of the first game - Shiver Vanishing Hitchhiker, but the connections between the stories are weak. Gameplay is interesting, but there is nothing extraordinary - simple puzzles, usual Hidden Object scenes. But there is also no significant cons in the game.

Main Shiver: Poltergeist game advantage is atmosphere. It's really great, you feeling that there is no hope for the lost souls and maybe there is no hope for you either. And by the way, piano melodies in the game are just perfect.
Buying Collector's Edition of Shiver 2: Poltergeist will give you some pleasant bonus features (absent in the Standard version) - Integrated Strategy guide, bonus gameplay (more quests connected with the rusty lighthouse and ferry), Wallpapers (in various resolutions) and Concept Art. As you may notice, everything is pretty standard for Big Fish Games Collector's Editions.

What I may say in addition? There is nothing really new or revolutionary in this game, but Shiver 2: Poltergeist Collector's Edition will be successful because of this great atmosphere of darkness and despair. Ghosts are suffering and you can feel those suffers. No hope, no salvation can be found in the Kangale Estate. And that is why gameworld is so bogging, that's why it's hard to stop playing. Download Shiver 2: Poltergeist CУ - it's worth it.

Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen CE Overview & Download link

Good day, my dear friends. Today I will review newest PC/Mac game from Blue Tea Games (Developer) and Big Fish Games (Publisher) - Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen. As usual for A-class HOG, Big Fish firstly released Collector's Edition only. Standard edition will be available only a month later. And as usual for me, I'm offering you to start our overview with gameplay video.

I liked the videosequence of this game very much. Storyline of Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen  in the end may be similiar with some other casual games but beautiful snowed landscapes making you forget about it. Great detailed animation, wonderful weather effects - i.e. snowstorm, sunny winter day etc. Great graphics, really.

This is already third part of Dark Parables game series. It's easy to see that if someone creating third part of the game it means that first and second parts were successful. First part was called  Dark Parables: Curse of the Briar Rose, second - Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince.
In 2010 first part - Dark Parables: Curse of the Briar Rose was released. It included clever puzzle, beautiful graphics and truly wonderful Cursed object minigame that was called on of the greatest minigames ever. Curse of the Briar Rose told us the story of the Sleeping Beauty, but more spooky and dark way. Prince kissed everyone and removed the curse of eternal sleep and briars that captured the whole kingdom. The only person who stayed unaffected by prince's kiss was the sleeping beauty herself. And now, when about thousand years has passed, briars has returned and you must find out, why. Game was very good and interesting, so soon sequel was developed.

In Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince, released in the beginning of this year, you were investigating the disappearance of the chancellor's daughter and suddenly uncovering the long lost kingdom of the exiled Frog Prince! You find out that centuries ago beautiful girl kissed a frog and it become a handsome prince. But it ends badly and now exiled prince living in a black forest, yet again as a frog. Game was even more interesting, then the first part, graphics was greatly improved. So now we are facing the third part. As you may notice, stories of various parts isn't connected, so you can play any of the games independently.

In the third game, Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen you are investigate the disappearance of children. Once defeated and destroyed, evil Snow Queen resurrected from the snow ashes and attacking nearby villages. Eagles and wolves are helping her, snow giants are protecting her and her powers are growing! You must stop Snow Queen before her army will be big enough and her supernatural powers - strong enough to break Snowfall Kingdom to pieces!

In Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen to explore the Snowfall Kingdom you will break through walls of ice, survive deadly snowstorm, troll and wolf attack, explore various frozen locations with frozen humans and animals. Some of them may be helped, others - no. And remember: in evil hands even beautiful green apple may be deadly and dreadful.

 Summing up, Dark Parables: Rise of the Snow Queen game is good. It's not so gloomy us previous parts (because of the white snow everywhere) and some parts of the story were used in other HOGs, but the most important part of any game - gameplay is practically perfect. Various puzzles and minigames (mostly logical enough), beautiful Hidden object scenes, moving according to onscreen map (like in good old-school RPG's) - great, really great. Try it, and maybe you like it just as I do.

Shattered Minds: Masquerade Collector's Edition Overview and Download for PC/Mac

Hi, friends. Today is Sunday and this means that Big Fish Game Studios releasing bright new Collector's Edition of a great Hidden Object game, as always happens (recently) in Thursdays and Sundays. Last Thursday game wasn't good for me, so I didn't release it (don't like that very looooong game series). But today is another business - Big Fish released Shattered Minds: Masquerade. Let's watch gameplay video!

Shattered Minds: Masquerade game is about famous Masquerade in New Orleans, almost as so famous as Masquerade in Venecia. Mardi Gras. So exotic but so close. Usually everything going well on Masquerade, but not this time.

Usually masquerade, carnival is time for joy and fun. But not this time, not in Shattered Minds: Masquerade. Mysterious fog falls onto helpless New Orleans. It is moving too fast to be natural and if you look carefully you can see faces inside of it. And those faces neither good nor kind - they are full of anger and hatred!

And that is only beginning of Shattered Minds: Masquerade! The worst thing is that fog isn't harmless! When he is touching any person that man, woman or child stops any movement, freezing and loosing his/her face completely! And now, when the fog consumed New Orleans completely and all it's citizens are in grave danger of this faceless fog, they are staying still and cannot move to help themselves!

Look like fog has it's own dark will, and although you are the only one stays unaffected by it's face-stealing magic fog is still chasing you. You are the only one survived and you must find out, what happened and what is the dark secret hidden behind the Shattered Minds: Masquerade.

Soon you will find out that there is a person, responsible for this ruthless attack on New Orleans in Shattered Minds: Masquerade. He is the one responsible for this madness and havoc on Mardi Gras. The name of this villain is Visage and he belongs to the Boudreaux family, that must be destroyed completely a long time ago. Boudreaux possessed very strange powers, dark, supernatural and evil. Everyone believed that Boudreaux family was wiped out from the face of Earth, but someone survived!

You will learn the terrible truth and disperse the deadly fog. To have his revenge for the Boudreaux family Visage steal the faces of every human being in New Orleans. Everyone except you. So now it's time to stop him and return faces to the poor people! It's time for Shattered Minds: Masquerade! Catch the masked magician that stand behind this attack. Save New Orleans form Visage!

Shattered Minds: Masquerade Game is very beautiful. If dedicated to carnival thematics and opens it completely. In the beginning you are feeling like you participating the biggest carnival party ever. Everyone in the beautiful masks, happy and laughing. But in a blink of an eye party becoming a mystical thriller. Everyone is beset by this deadly fog, coming from the old steamboat, you are alone and scared, all decorations are ruined and devastated. Visually it is transferred flawlessly.

But music can be better - sometimes, specially in the dramatic moments it's all right but main theme isn't good enough for me. But that isn't big lack - in a few minutes you are stop noticing it. Puzzles are good - neither too complicated nor simple. Hidden object scenes are interesting and well-painted. Gameplay videos are also great and very atmospheric. In Shattered Minds: Masquerade you will explore various locations: streets of New Orleans, mysterious riverboat, abandoned buildings and many others.

So let's sum up. Shattered Minds: Masquerade game is very good and high-quality, it recommended to everyone who loves thematics of Masquerade, riverboats, magic and New Orleans. You won't regret it.

So let's see gameplay video to discover, is this game worth it.

Main difference of Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel game from other A-class Hidden Object Big Fish Games is beauty. Game is really beautiful, it's full of splendid Italian landscapes, sometimes you will play it not only to move forward through scenario, but to see, what landscape is hidden after the corner.

Music and surrounding sound are interactive enough (depends from your actions), they are pleasant, variate enough and giving a pleasant addition to the atmosphere of Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel.

Detailisation on Hidden Object scenes, complexity of game's mini-games and puzzles - all in Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel are traditionally for Big Fish realized on highest level. But it's not the only advantages of this game...

You may already noticed, that usually I praising all games I reviewing. It may be simply explained: I'm playing (and later reviewing) only games I like. If there is nothing good in game I'm finding inside me no decision to complete it and write about it. So if I'm reviewing some game - be ready to high rating :)

Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel isn't an exception: I really loved it. And the main reason of my attraction isn't beautiful landscapes, no (it's only a second reason). I like this game, because it is about true love.

Your young heroine traveling across Italy and suddenly in the Tuscany city she meets ghost of a young Italian girl named Eva. Her restless spirit cannot leave the Earth, because Eva has an unfinished business here. When she was alive in nineteenth century she had a beloved one - young beautiful man named Giovanni.

They say, a long time ago there was no separation between man and woman: every couple was physically united in a single beautiful and harmonic creature. Man and woman halves of this creature loved each other so much, and this true love gives to it happiness and power of gods. Gods, who wasn't so happy, envy to those creatures, to their happiness and delight. So they punished poor creatures - divide them into halves and mix these halves all over the Earth so they may never reassemble themselves together again.

Those halves were humans. Since then we are looking for our second half, looking even unwillingly, looking desperately and hopeless. We are dying and reborn trying to reassemble, but all our efforts usually are in vain. Only few of us has been found truly second part of themselves and we name that cases "The True Love". Story about Eva and Giovanni is one of those stories.

Eva and Giovanni find each other and become happy. Their happiness was so big, so pure, that gods noticed it and destroy them, trying to prevent them from completion of reassembling. Eva fell ill with a strange illness, deadly one. When she was near death, Giovanni, desperately trying to save his beloved one, start his journey to find the cure. But he fails. Eva died in loneliness and since then her unrest soul is flying across Tuscany, trying to find her true love, Giovanni. Eva will desperately ask you for help, and you will accept this hard task.

Your task in Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel  is to help Eva: you will restore the path of Giovanni, find out, why he was late, what stopped him from saving Eva and where his body and soul are resting now. It won't be easy: almost every trace was lost even in 19th century, so in 21th it is almost impossible task. You will visit old medical libraries, abandoned cemeteries and crypts, explore hundred years tombs.

You will find out, what rare illness killed Eva, where Giovanni failed trying to achieve elusive cure and you will find his dead body. Search Italy for answers! Reunite long lost lovers!
