Rating: 4.5/5.
Hi, friends, sorry for my vacation over 1/2 of a year. OF course it isn't a vacation, in a contrary, I have absolutely no time to write even about best casual games you can imagine. Now I'm back, but don't sure for how long. But what I'm sure of is that my posts will definitely become shorter because of the lack of time.
Today we will review newest Hidden Object game from Big Fish, published in a middle of August 2012 - Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty. For now game released only for PC and only in Collector's Edition variant. But experience telling us that in the future Big Fish Games will also publish Standard Edition and Mac OS version too, we just have to wait. But lets get to business and we will start our review from the official gameplay video.
Great spooky landscapes and unusual story in Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty Collector's Edition game, somehow familiar with the Howl's Moving Castle.
Exciting, but let's stay sharp and continue our overview of Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty.
Scary thing, huh? It's a witch, your in-game antagonist. And your protagonist will meet her very soon. Actually, at very beginning of Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty Collector's Edition game.
Just at the beginning of the Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty story grandma of your character (20-years old girl named Angelica) started to tell you stories from her childhood, including story of spooky portrait from these times, portrait of her school director.
This woman was very dangerous and evil, every pupil in grandma's school was scared to death by her, and grandma wasn't an exception. They say even that director even was familiar with black magic. So when one day director glanced at the grandma, she just run away and never returned.
Director's name in Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty Collector's Edition game was Madame Flemet. But when your grandmother said it, something horrible happened. Portrait of Madame Flemet suddenly turned alive and terrible creature, similar with Madame Flemet but likely eons older, came from there.
This morbid monster started some unexpected and horrifying actions in Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty game. First it took your grandma's soul, so she died. And then it steal your beauty, Angelica's beauty! Now monster turned into a nice woman, and you become ugly! Then witch has disappeared.
Now when Angelica lost her grandma and her beauty too, she must made a choice. She must start a witch hunt, and find a way to obtain her lost beauty once again and to punish Madame Flemet for her crimes. Fortunately, grandma leaved a trace - one of her previous stories was about Flemet's house.
So Angelica will travel there, break into Flemet's mansion and started her battle against the witch and her henchmen. She will discover, that Madame Flemet feed on captured souls of her victims and that's a way for her to gain immortal life. Is this a way to stop the immortal witch? Download Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty Collector's Edition and find out!
Summing up, Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty Collector's Edition game is pretty good. Graphics is realistic and great detailed, music is fine, tense in the right moments. HOS are well-drowned and interesting, and some puzzles are truly out of common. Finale hiding some surprises for you. So Witch Hunters: Stolen Beauty game worth your attention and place on your hard disc. Good luck!

Rating 4.7/5

Hi there, Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition was released today by Big Fish Games so the time has come to review it. You won't be surprised if I say that Living Legends: Ice Rose is Hidden Object/Puzzle/Adventure game - Big Fish Games traditionally publish exclusive Collector's editions of the games that belongs to this genre combination. But let's talk not about Big Fish but about Living Legends: Ice Rose game, developed by the Friends Games and we will start with the gameplay video:
As you may see, Living Legends: Ice Rose game is based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale about Kai, Gerda and Snow Queen. Graphics is good, gameplay is comfy and interesting so let's talk about game features and storyline.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition Main Menu
As you may remember in the tale "The Snow Queen" by the Hans Christian Andersen little boy and girl, Kai and Gerda are struggled against the evil Snow Queen, queen of the snowflakes. Snow Queen is immortal and year after year she traveling across the earth with the snow. She is just the same in the Living Legends: Ice Rose game. The tale begins when Snow Queen meet them and liked Kai, so Queen abducted him and enslaved his mind, using the splinters of the troll-mirror. Kai almost forgot about Gerda, went freely and willingly with the Snow Queen and become her loyal servant.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Nice snowy landscapes.
Snow Queen taken Kai to her snow palace in the lands of permafrost and promised, that if he will collect the word "eternity" from the shards of the troll-mirror, Queen will made him immortal too and moreover - will made him equal to herself. Mirror shards in the Kai eye and heart made him to see and feel reality distorted, to wish power and to control snow armies. He start to suspect his beloved Gerda in some evil intents, his heart become cold and cruel.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Iced funicular.
But Gerda willing to loose everything but not Kai. She went into dangerous journey, looking for Kai. For example, sorceress tried to control Gerda and to leave her with herself forever, but Gerda remembered the roses, most important flower for them and freed herself. Raven and princess helped Gerda, giving her right directions and warm clothes. Robbers captured Gerda but robber girl decided that Gerda is her playmate and helped her. After multiple adventures she went to the snow palace and find Kai. Witch of Finland helped Gerda to find a way to save Kai, and Gerda actually did it.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Hidden Object scene.
Gerda used her love to made shards of the troll-mirror fell from the Kai's heart so them combined the word "Eternity" and freed Kai from the influence of the Snow Queen.Kai and Gerda run away and lived happy long life.
But all of this just a tale isn't it? And Andersen's warning about the land of the snow queen is just a silly superstition, right? In Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition you will find out, that it's not true.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Abandoned coach.
Icy realm of the Snow Queen still fascinates adventurers. Once prosperous city of Rosemount has been vanished:  now it's covered with snow and all citizens are turned into the icy statues.  So famous novelist Edward Grand travel to the Rosemoun, looking for the story for his new book. What can be more exciting than the story about iced ghost-town. He don't believe in the stories about the Snow Queen, and honestly, who believes this childish tales nowadays? Even though a century ago the great Hans Christian Andersen bequeathed to stay away from this cold beauty, fairy tales are not decree for the young ones. And that was Edward's main mistake.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Find the teapot.
Edward find a clues, leading him to the snow palace, so he went there to explore it and collect the evidence. But soon after beginning of the Living Legends: Ice Rose, Snow Queen captured Edward, just as Kai once, after him found the shards of the troll-mirror. Therefore, a new Gerda sets off to save the new Kai (aka Edward), and on the way she will meet original Kai and Gerda, only very aged. The old tale in a new cover is beautiful, like many years ago.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Find the white rabbit!
Exploring frozen landscapes you will meet many characters (most of them will be ghosts) and desperately trying to find a way to free Edward from the troll-mirror possession and save him from the Snow Palace. Music in the Living Legends: Ice Rose is just wonderful - sad and quiet, based on the violin's melodies it creates incredible atmosphere. Graphics is also great, and the most important thing is connected with roses. Roses are you guiders and saviors, in the harsh situation find and use the rose or something with rose's symbolics - it will help.
Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition. Ahoy, in the castle!
In the end of Living Legends: Ice Rose you will face the Snow Queen herself, and she won't be kind to you: jump away from your funicular before she will throw it into the abyss! Face the living legend, save Edward! Can you thaw out a town and Edward's heart? Download Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition and find out!
Collector's Edition includes traditional set of additional features - strategy guide, bonus content (chapter where you should thaw one more heart), screenshots, music, wallpapers, concept art, bonus puzzles and screensavers.
Living Legends: Ice Rose is a great game, opening a world of Andersen's classical tale from the unexpected side. I liked it and I hope you will like it too. It has great graphics and very interesting tense storyline. Since you can try it before you buy it I strongly recommend you to do so. Try Living Legends: Ice Rose Collector's Edition and have tons of fun!

Hello, my friends,  today Big Fish Games published new game, new Collector's Edition - Silent Nights: The Pianist. As usual it belongs to the Hidden Object/Puzzle/Adventure genre combination. I can remember only two cases of Collector's Editions not being HOGs during the last year - Royal  Envoy 2 Collector's Edition, nice Time Management game and Drawn 3: Trail of Shadows Collector's Edition - pure Adventure game with Puzzle elements. Of course, there was also Fairway Collector's Edition, but I really didn't like such combination of golf and card game (although Fairway is pretty popular among other gamers). But let's watch video with Silent Nights: The Pianist gameplay to find more about today's game:
Two things connected with this Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition Trailer: first - game is about music and musicians, even some of the puzzles are connected with the music, singing and musical instruments.  Second - I wasn't really impressed by the game graphics, especially after Mystery Trackers 3: Black Isle. You can miss it in the darkness, but when we are coming into the lighted location, poor detailing is fully exposing itself. But let's not judge game by its cover and start to review Silent Nights: The Pianist more closely.
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Screenshot of the main menu.
For generations your family gained fame and weight for the famous musicians, grown inside the family. Tradition of the musical education for every family member is almost sacred and in the end gained the family incredible wealth. From century to century almost every member of your bloodline was a gifted, talented musician - composer, singer, guitarist, pianist, organist, violinist, cellist and harpist etc. The same happens with you and your sister Yvette, so to the time when Silent Nights: The Pianist begins both of you appeared to be great musicians - vocalist and pianist.
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Take the shovel and dig.
For years both of you gave performances all over the country, sometimes even in foreign concert halls. And the time has come to turn back home, to return where you belongs. You and Yvette are called to perform a vocal concert in your hometown, and both of you agreed to do so with a great pleasure. Maybe you haven't seen your family for a long time but it doesn't mean you don't want to. Yvette came to your homeland first, you were going just after her. Thats when the problems of Silent Nights: The Pianist begins.
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Welcome to hotel reception.
When you arrived you find out that horrible thing happened - Yvette has been kidnapped! Your hometown looks deserted and empty, you can't find any man on the streets. And you are in desperate need for help of the police, your family, anyone's help!  But there is no help coming. So Silent Night has begin and it's time for musician to play role of the private detective.
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Screenshot of the harp.
Soon, exploring the half-deserted town in Silent Nights: The Pianist you will find out, that Yvette was not a random victim, she's now a part of diabolical plan, dangerous for many people. She was abducted by the ancient organization, wearing robes to hide their true identities. Those mysterious group are planning to use Yvette talent for the dark and dangerous purpose, and what is most disturbing, it will absolutely lead Yvette to death.
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Screenshot of the nasty night rain.
It's not the first time the musician will carry justice to the criminals. You may remember film El mariachi by Robert Rodriguez, where traveling mariachi was taking the guns and fighting crime. This time you wouldn't kill anyone, but you should find a way to your sister and save her before Yvette will be silenced forever. Although you just  the Pianist for your sister you will pick locks, ram the gates with your car, blow the walls with the dynamite - do everything it takes to save your singer-sister!

Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Screenshot of diamond and emerald.
Members of the ancient cult will do anything to stop you and kill you - they will set traps for you, they will shoot you with their guns, they will try to lock you up forever. Only wits and clever use of usual objects may help you to complete Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition and save Yvette from the terrible doom. Can you save your sister, or her beautiful voice will be silenced?
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Screenshot of the abandoned basement.
System requirements of the Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition is moderate: you will need only 2.0 GHz CPU to play game without lags, 512 Mb of memory, 485 MB of free space on your HDD and any Windows OS - from XP to Windows 7. Windows 8 not supported. Installation file size is about half gigabyte so you will need good Internet connection to download game fast.
Collector's Edition of Silent Nights: The Pianist for Windows from the Big Fish Games costs 13.99 U.S. dollars. For this money first of all you will gain early access to the game (Standard Edition will be available only in the middle of the April). Collector's Edition also includes Integrated Strategy Guide (usual for Big Fish - detailed description with pictures and screens for every game scene), bonus gameplay (with an intriguing start start - you are finding yourself trapped and chained inside the room), Wallpapers and Concept Art. Of course, music from the game are also included in the soundtrack (it would be strange if it were otherwise - in the end game is about music and musicians).
Silent Nights: The Pianist Collector's Edition. Will you drink from this glass of vine?
Now let's sum up. Silent Nights: The Pianist is not a bad Hidden Object, Puzzle, Adventure game, system requirements are normal, Collector's edition complectation of Silent Nights: The Pianist is also good. But there is something missing in the game, something important. Maybe developers just didn't include their soul into the game, maybe it's something else, but The Pianist isn't so entertaining as other HOGs. Some puzzles are too easy, and IMHO there's too many puzzles with fictional alphabet created by the game developers. Some letters in it is look like Vietnamese and differences one from another only by a dot or a short line, or a little curve. In some puzzles it may be annoying. Almost all hidden object scenes are dark, not the dangerously or beautifully dark but darkly gray and without contrast. I completed the game, I liked the finale and final quests, but I gained less fun than usual from this game. But although I still have fun, I may recommend to download Silent Nights: The Pianist, at least if you have no more interesting games waiting in line. Good luck!

Hi everyone, The Agency of Anomalies 2 has arrived! Big Fish Games released the sequel of a very successful hidden object game  the Agency of Anomalies - The Agency of Anomalies 2: Cinderstone Orphanage. As usual Big Fish Games Studios firstly released only the Collector's Edition of this game. Let's see in this review, what should we do now in the Cinderstone Orphanage and does this game worth the fame of the great first part. And we will start reviewing The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage from the short video with game review:
As you may see, game story of the second part taking place in the Orphanage (if you played the first part of The Agency of Anomalies then you know - that time you were investigating the hospital, full of mystical and supernatural beings). Cinderstone Orphanage has been destroyed by a fire, looks like fire was caused by unnatural cause - some incendiaries did their merciless job.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition Main Menu
Police can't find any clues, leading to the criminals, because the arsonists were supernatural - likely they was ghosts. So now The Agency of Anomalies is sending you to the Cinderstone Orphanage to investigate the situation. There are both PC and Mac version of the game available.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
In the first part - The Agency of Anomalies: Mystic Hospital you also was a special agent of The Agency of Anomalies. You was investigating a military hospital, full of very strange and terrible things. Military commanders decide to made some nonhuman cruel experiments on patients and prisoners there, continuing the darkest discoveries of Nazi scientists and doctors. But as usual something went wrong. Soldiers, nurses that were placed in this hospital even doctors and scientists were transformed into the ravenous hideous beasts. Few survivors were killed by transformed crazy doctors and patients, others run away as fast as possible. So army screwed up and now asked The Agency of Anomalies for help.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
The Agency of Anomalies sent the best agent it has - you - into that cursed place. For the first look it's just another game in the row of games, actions of which are happening in the abandoned buildings of hospitals (preferably psychiatric), it's kind a popular cliché. Silent Hill, F.A.C.E.S this row can be continued endlessly. But The Agency of Anomalies wasn't the usual clone. Dr. Oliver Orvos called to The Agency of Anomalies, asking you  to stop a dimensional vortex in this hospital. If you will fail, maybe the whole humanity will be erased from the face of Earth. Exploring the cursed hospital you will find out, that Dr. Odin Dagon, leading scientist of that hospital was trying to create the ultimate warrior - super soldier. Dagon injected supernatural serum into the veins of the volunteers and military prisoners. For a time it was good, but then things went worse and worse.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
Experiments of Dr. Odin did not end well - energy was too powerful for a human beings. They are morphed into the monsters and start to create havoc and destruction. In the result there were created the hollow man, the invisible man and the werewolf. Oliver Orvos didn't like those results and he was fired by Dr. Odin, thats why he's alive - he wasn't in the hospital during the final injection, when the whole hospital explode.
Dr. Orvos gave you a Nexus, full of supernatural energy. It became your only protection from the monsters and reality flaws inside the hospital. But with the present amount of energy he won't be helpful against the dimensional vortex, so the whole planet may explode. So the only hope for the humanity was to explore the hospital, looking for the supernatural energy and collecting it until it will be enough to stop the vortex.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
The Agency of Anomalies: Mystic Hospital game was really splendid, hidden object scenes were huge and includes up to 25 objects to find, various puzzles, including standard adventure quests - place the needed object into the needed place. Also there were special achievements in the Mystic Hospital - bonuses for ending hidden object scenes without using a single hint, collecting hidden postcards onto the scenes (they weren't included in the list of objects-to-find). Graphics and atmosphere of the post-war hospital in the game were really incredible. Also it included an enormously long bonus chapter in the Collector's edition (the game itself also had a decent length). And now sequel of this great game has been released.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
In the Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage you are still the best agents of this national security service, dealing with paranormal catastrophes and crimes. This time you are sent to the Orphanage, that was burned to the ground by unknown origins, likely, by ghosts. Those Orphanage was created for the gifted children and those children's talents wasn't just talent of math or art. Soon you will find out that some mystical brotherhood is after that terrible fire, that caused the Cinderstone Orphanage to be abandoned. Police think that children and their caretaker are dead, but their bodies never were found. So now you, as a full responsible representative of the Agency of Anomalies must find out their fate.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
Game includes great documentation and description for every quest and puzzle, made as note book with detailed notes about your every task. It including photos, images of your task and detailed description of what you should do. For example, you have an acid mixed with water and you need to separate them. When you will find a necessary recipe in your note book will be shown the picture of chemical reaction and description of the action sequence you should do: first you should warm the water, then add a needed reagent...
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
Soon you found out that brotherhood with the help of corrupted administrative workers of the Orphanage performed terrible experiments with children with supernatural abilities, and after the unexpected results of such experiments the fire was made to destroy any traces of those tests and studies. But the children isn't dead - they are trapped by the brotherhood and you are the only one able to save them. But yourself you cannot do it - only using the abilities of the scared children you can save them and yourself from this deadly trap.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
Every kid has his special ability - one girl can paint animals that are turning alive, another can throw a fireball. And you have a power keeper, that can be charged by those kid's powers, opening new ways and abilities for you. Exploring the rooms of Cinderstone Orphanage, using all vocational training you had in The Agency of Anomalies you will find out about the past of the orphans and orphanage, why they have those super-abilities. It's impossible to watch those children hurt by the evil experimenters, so atmosphere in the game are just incredible. In the Collectors Edition of The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage you will find the Bonus gameplay chapter (long enough, about 1.5-2 hours to complete), 8 interesting puzzle mini-games, Integrated Strategy Guide (pretty usual), achievements (just like in the first part of the game) and collectible items. If you need info about some technical issues, go on the game forum.
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition screen
The Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage Collector's Edition is definitely worth downloading and playing. If you don't want to pay $ 13.99 you can download Standard Edition for PC or for Mac for only $ 6.99 (or even $ 2.99 for a new customers).  It at very least isn't worse than the Mystic Hospital, and I like Cinderstone Orphanage even more. Graphics in the The Agency of Anomalies 2 is great. For example, look on the spruce twig on the one of the screenshots - isn't it 100% realistic? Story is great and game mechanics is pretty unusual - with every collected power, given to you by one of the orphans you can solve some puzzles and find some new ways, unavailable for you before. I recommend this game for you, even if you weren't play the Mystic Hospital - game is worth of attention of every Hidden Object games fan. Play The Agency of Anomalies 2 and have lot of fun!
